NEBR strives to be among the elite in service provision. It is for this reason that NEBR makes it a priority to provide our customers with the service they deserve. Our customer base is vast with maintenance being provided on a number of fleets comprised of varying technologies.

NEBR prides itself on having all of our technicians fully versed and certified in these technologies which include: Hybrid Electric and Electric Buses. NEBR was responsible for the pre-delivery inspections on over 1,600 New Flyer hybrid electric buses and 5 Electric buses that were delivered to the end client NYC transit.

NEBR has also been chosen to provide the inspection and warranty service of 75 new hybrid-electric buses being delivered to The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority in Boston.

NEBR has been at the forefront of the Hybrid Electric/Electric Bus Systems, and has been selected as the only Certified Dealer for BAE Systems in the United States. In this representation, NEBR is responsible for product support in the US and Puerto Rico.

As part of this support, NEBR provides Factory trained and certified technicians to provide Extended Warranty Repair Programs for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey

Northeastern Bus Rebuilders Inc. (NEBR) has provided outstanding partner services since it began maintaining airport-based transit buses for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in 1997. As the backbone of our on-airport bus operations at JFK and LGA airports, NEBR has provided many critical services, including mid-life overhaul programs that have extended the life of our bus fleets and maximized our assets to their fullest potential. NEBR also provided day-to-day maintenance for our 2007 and 2009 hybrid electric bus fleet of 40-foot Orions.

NEBR is currently under contract with the New York City Transit and MTA Bus Authority to provide and support all major Hybrid system components. NEBR has spared no expense on the specialized training and equipment to support these programs.

NEBR owns one of the only diagnostic test and conditioning units in the US to perform the lead-acid battery life cycle replacements on over 1500 buses for NYCT, MTA PANYNJ, and Roosevelt Island. NEBR was awarded the contract for the Lithium-ion life cycle replacements for the entire NYCTA fleet.

Energy Storage Systems/Battery System Replacement

As it pertains to ESS (Energy Storage System) retrofits and replacements, NEBR is the nationwide leader in the industry. NEBR has successfully been awarded multiple ESS replacements contracts concurrently for NYCT over the past 12 years. During these contracts, NEBR has successfully completed ESS replacements on the fleet before the scheduled conclusion dates. NEBR has also performed the ESS replacements on the Port Authority Fleet for JFK, LGA, and Newark Airports respectively, on 3 separate occasions. NEBR was also awarded and successfully completed the refurbishment of 692 L-ion ESS’ for MTA/NYCT, 1 year ahead of schedule. Utilizing skilled high voltage certified technicians NEBR organizes and schedules a replacement program that poses the least amount of impact to the end-users service.
